This was a christmas present for my History Teacher Mr. Terry that i gave him.
The story is thus;
1856
Charles Sumner, Senator of Massachusettes, made a speech 'bitterly attacking Southerners for forcing slavery on Kansas' and 'included bold insults against Senator Andrew Butler og South Carolina'...This angers Preston Brooks, a House member who was a relative of Butler. SO...Preston comes into Sumner's office, Sumners minding his own business doing his work, there start talking ya know 'how ar you' and oh 'im good, ya know i dun like what you had to say Charles' and soon they start yelling and then Preston whips out his cane and starts beating the crap outta Sumner. Later, Southerners were proud of what Preston did and sent him canes that said 'hit him again' on it.
Behold the Congressional ass-whooping of eightteen fitty six!
